“Although our stay was brief, we truly enjoyed our time at the Lazy Lizard. The rooms are large, meticulously clean and quiet. It shows that there is a lot of thought and attention put into the details.
Due to our flight time, we arrived after office hours but were kindly accommodated. Aidan even booked our reef tour for us—it was spectacular! We received so much helpful info on what to do, where to eat and where to go.
The beds were comfy, and we slept well. We would highly recommend a stay here.”

20th October 2024 - Loved staying here! Very quiet and super clean with everything you need. Preferred it over being in a busy overcrowded resort. Owners are lovely. Thanks for a great stay! We will definitely come back again!

I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to share the great time we had at the Lazy Lizard Motor Inn. We booked relatively last minute, the booking process was easy, the instructions to get to the motel and the Welcome email exemplary.
What a gem! The Lazy lizard motel is a great place to stay, we had a lovely big airy room, exceptionally clean & comfortable, well stocked equipment in the kitchenette & fluffy white towels!! 😍
Aidan who greeted was fantastic and soo knowledgeable, helping us plan our own road trip of local places to see and do. The best trip ever, we saw some amazing sights in Daintree, including a wild cassowary!!!
We loved all the extra touches: Clear, easy to follow maps, beach towels from reception for our trip out to the reef, laundry, ice machine, borrowing a DVD for the evening, local restaurant & bar information.
We felt so well cared for as customers, thank you so much Aidan. Sam and I would highly recommend the Lazy Lizard and would love to visit again, as it’s been the highlight of our trip. 10 out of 10 for excellent customer service. Thank you.
18th December 2024 - We stayed a couple of weeks in December. As we had a trailer boat it was ideal location as there was plenty of parking on the street as it's not on the main road
Rooms are very clean and tidy. It was very quiet while we were here. Beds were comfortable with one double and a single. Basic cooking with microwave and electric fry pan and a community BBQ near pool.Staff were friendly. Nice stay
Great place to stay
This motel is a great place to stay and reasonably priced. The rooms are big, exceptionally clean and have a great little kitchen area. The staff are fantastic, helpful and are so knowledgeable about the area. Aiden was extremely helpful with planning our tours. He gave us an esky so that we could have a picnic on the beach at Cape Tribulation which was fantastic. They have a big ice machine for everyone to use which is brilliant for your evening drinks. The pool area was great. We would highly recommend the Lazy Lizard and would happily come back. I give Aiden and Alex 10 out of 10 for excellent customer service.

It is not easy to find a decently priced but nice and clean room in Port Douglas during high season. However, we found exactly this at the Lazy Lizard. We were most impressed with the heated pool and the kind and helpful guys at the reception, who even took care of my luggage while I went camping in the rainforest for a week. Thanks so much, guys! We had a great time at the Lazy Lizard and will certainly come back soon.
27th October 2024 - Super clean, great location, really comfy beds, great shower and owners who give you honest, impartial knowledgeable and friendly. You can park under cover. Highly recommended!! I wish I could have stayed longer. Definitely a must for port Douglas where accom can be expensive.
